Kakum National Park
Located 20km north of Cape Coast is the Akum Nationla Park. Tucked away in this small rainforest are endangered wildlife including the forest elephants, colobus monkeys, over 300 species of bird and a staggering 600 species of butterflies. The main attraction is the suspended canopy walkway. It is 30m (98ft) above the forest floor. well worth the price of admission. please note there is a price for locals and a price for expatriates

Aburi Botanical Garden
Located 35km northeast of Accra is the town of Aburi. Aburi Botanic Gardens provide a welcome getaway from Accra's hustle and bustle. The gardens are well maintained and teem with exotic plant life from around the world. Two tall Brazilian 'monkey pot' trees are supposedly able to trap our tree-swinging ancestors - not that Aburi has too many wild monkeys to worry about.

Mole National Park
Located 135km west of Tamale. The Mole National Park is a home to many bird species and mammal, including lions and buffalos, elephants, baboons and antelopes to mention a few. The Mole National Park, is complete with its own lodge. The park was established in 1971 and covers 5198 sq km (2007 sq mi). it's a home to many bird species and as well as many mammals including: warthogs, elephants, antelopes, baboons to name a few. |
